India added 4 new Ramsar sites to the Ramsar site list of the country. Now India has a total of 89 Ramsar sites. Jharkhand and Sikkim are their first-ever Ramsar sites. Tamil Nadu also got two new Ramsar sites. Minister of 'Environment, Forest, and Climate Change' Bhupender Yadav announced one day before International Wetlands Day four new wetlands that got the designation of Ramsar sites as Ramsar Convention.
